GOOD NEIGHBOUR SCHEME

   CORONAVIRUS. Click here for the UK Government's advice on the Coronavirus outbreak.

     The Hollesley, Boyton and Shingle Street Good Neighbour Scheme has been set up to provide
     occasional help for local people in these areas. A number of unpaid volunteers have joined the
     scheme to give assistance on a range of services including :

         - lifts to the railway station or to local doctors, dentists or hospital appointments, or
               collecting pensions or prescriptions;
- form filling and computer advice;
- dog walking or looking after a cat if the owner is away or unwell
- small tasks around the house or garden, such as changing light bulbs, fitting batteries to smoke alarms or retuning the TV;
- 'befriending' or providing company;
- shopping or errands;
- other activities as requested or agreed.
      We cannot provide an emergency service, and we do not replace your regular paid helper or
     gardener. We are working alongside local providers such as the Welcome Club, WI and church
     who also offer help and support within the local community.
     We have a mobile phone that is held by a volunteer who then contacts the person most suited to
     the task in hand.
                                   Our telephone number is : 07707 850126.
     Our aim is to respond within 24 hours, and the voicemail service is available 24 hours a day.
      If you wish to join the scheme as a volunteer, contact Helen Lewis on helenm1960@btinternet.com
      or ring 411232 or Danny Bethell on danny.bethell@btinternet.com or ring 410477.
