You will find the village communities of Hollesley, Boyton, Capel St Andrew and Shingle Street near the southern tip of the Sandlings peninsula in Suffolk, to the east of Woodbridge. You can visit by car (take the B1083 from Woodbridge, then follow signs to Hollesley or Boyton) or by bus from Woodbridge or Ipswich (the local timetable is here). You can even cycle from Felixstowe via the ferry across the Deben, which operates in the summer (the ferry, not the Deben). This lands at Bawdsey, which is about 3 miles from Hollesley. |
